Sports Science and Winter Olympics

On January 19th, 2022, SINTEC project was presented at the webinar organized by the European College of Sport Science entitled “Sports Science and Winter Olympics”. The event was held online and included three talks focusing on sports science and the coupling and relevance for optimizing performance in the upcoming Winter Olympics in Beijing (China). One of these talks was given by our project partner, Prof. Matej Supej from the University of LJubljana, and it was entitled “Biomechanical determinants of peak performance of Olympic alpine skiers”: this presentation dealed with performance and training in alpine skiing. It focused on the biomechanical determinants of peak performance of Olympic alpine skiers and, in particular, how performance can be measured and how performance measures can be integrated into on-snow training. in this context, also SINTEC project and main results achieved at the moment were presented.
